The Printed Robot Part Open Library is an open-source project aimed at empowering makers everywhere.
Prpol combines the freedom of 3D printing with the convenience of a standard part system. Think Lego, K'Nex, or Vex, but the factory is your 3D printer.
Our part library is designed for makers of all stripes. Whether you're a student making a robot for a classroom competition, a tradesperson crafting a custom tool, or an artist designing a kinetic sculpture, you can Build Amazing Things with prpol.

Plate parts come in a few different forms and an unlimited number of possible sizes, but they all follow the same pattern: 3mm holes on a 10mm grid. Simple and efficient, plate parts alone can form the basis of many projects.
Solid parts complement plate parts and make excellent building blocks for intermediate-sized structures. They have pockets for captive m3 nuts; m3 machine screws are the standard fastener for all prpol structure parts.
Quickly build large structures with the prpol 3D truss system. Struts lock into hubs by turning 90 degrees. Hubs can be printed with captive m3 nuts to allow other types of parts to bolt directly onto a truss framework.
Attach circuit boards, motors, and more with prpol's universal and custom transition parts. Use slot brackets to create adjustable anchor points, or use a slot plate as a universal mounting surface.
Use standard-sized prpol gears and wheels to get things moving. Gears and wheels can lock onto 3mm steel round rods, or spin freely. The prpol gear system also has compound and intermittent gears.
Find parts specific to fun and educational projects you can make with prpol parts. For example, printable marble machine segments that attach to the prpol grid.
At its core, prpol is a community design project aimed at maximizing what can be achieved with 3D printing technology. We are passionate about empowering makers all around the world to build amazing things. We believe in democratizing design and innovation, which is why prpol is and always will be open-source. Anyone can use the phrase "prpol-compatible" when sharing 3D print files online. It's easy to to make your design compatible with prpol. If it can be attached to a 1 cm grid pattern of holes with m3 machine screws, it's prpol-compatible. Anyone can also remix or modify designs in the prpol part library as long as they are shared in accordance with our license.
