The current version of the prpol part system is v0.3.1, released September 2026. The basics are all here, but many more part designs have yet to be added.

Where Prpol is at in its development:

• Plate and solid structural parts are basically complete, with only a few possible planned additions.
• Truss hubs and struts in their current form have already been tested but may still undergo further testing and revision.
• Spur gears have been added and their basic design is unlikely to change.
• Wheels are currently limited to one basic design.
• Specific transition parts are currently limited to mini servos and TT motors.
• Universal transition parts have been added. Moving forward, if an off-the-shelf component can be attached with universal transition parts, we likely will not add a custom transition part for it.
• There is currently only one parametric bearing flange design.
• Marble tracks are limited to straight and helix track sections. These are usable but expect continued development.

Coming Soon:

We have a lot of additions and improvements planned for the part system.

• Truss panels are in development, which will allow truss structures to have faces covered by rigid panels.
• More motion parts: worm gears, rack gears, chain and sprocket, tank tracks, and parametric grippers.
• More types of motors will have transition parts, with more variations for each motor type.
• Experiments with using hexagonal steel rods as axles rather than round rods.
• A new standardization scheme for marble tracks, and more marble track segment types.
• A rigid wheel and TPU tire design.
